Alex Crook names frontrunners in race to sign Alex Iwobi as Everton stance shared live on talkSPORT
Fulham are the frontrunners to sign Everton ace Alex Iwobi this summer, according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.
Crook noted that there is another Premier League club showing interest in the Nigeria international, but that the Cottagers are leading the race for his signature.
Iwobi joined Everton from fellow top flight side Arsenal in 2019, and has made almost 150 appearances for the Merseyside club.

“I think this (Iwobi to Fulham) has got legs,” Crook said live on talkSPORT. “Iwobi only has a year left on his contract. I think Everton obviously are trying to give Sean Dyche the resources to rebuild the squad if they can sell Iwobi. I think they are open to doing that.
“Talks have taken place. There are rumours of another Premier League club also interested in Iwobi, but I think at the moment, Fulham would be the frontrunners.”

Summer revamp continues
Dyche has been a busy man this summer, with the former Burnley boss trying his best to build a decent squad at Goodison Park.
And he has not wasted any time in getting rid of players who he doesn’t want to have around, with the likes of Yerry Mina, Asmir Begovic, Tom Davies, Ellis Simms, Andros Townsend and Mason Holgate all being moved on.
That has allowed the manager to bring in several players, with Ashley Young, Arnaut Danjuma, Youssef Chermiti, Jack Harrison and Beto all making the move to Merseyside this summer.
But there looks set to be more movement at the club in the final days of the summer transfer window, with Iwobi looking likely of exiting before the deadline.
It would certainly be a loss given his creativity and versatility on the pitch, but given how he has just entered the final year of his contract, it would make sense for Everton to sell him now for a fee rather than lose him for nothing next summer.
In other Everton news, new signing Beto has revealed a talk with a former Toffees player before his Goodison Park transfer.
