Everton exit on verge of completion as Alex Iwobi undergoes deadline-day medical – Sky Sports
Alex Iwobi is currently undergoing his medical at Fulham ahead of his departure from Everton, according to Sky Sports
The broadcaster reported on their live transfer blog (1 September, 10:12 am) that the 27-year-old is set to complete a permanent move from Goodison Park to join the Cottagers.
Elsewhere, The Athletic claim (1 September) the Toffees have granted young striker Tom Cannon permission to undergo a medical at Leicester City ahead of a £7.5million deal.

Double Farewell
Unless Iwobi fails his medical, it looks like he will be Marco Silva’s latest addition.
The Nigerian international has been a standout for the Toffees since his arrival. While he is not a prolific goalscorer, his presence will be missed at Goodison Park and his creativity was essential for the Toffees’ survival.
With The Evening Standard reporting (1 September) that the Toffees could receive up to £20million from the sale, the club will be happy with such a high fee.
The former Arsenal man spent four full seasons in Merseyside and has featured in two of Everton’s Premier League fixtures this season.
According to the Mirror’s print edition (1 September, pg 59), Fulham are set to offer Iwobi a “significantly better” contract, and with just one year remaining on his Everton contract, £20million seems more than fair.
Cannon was expected to rejoin Preston North End following a prolific loan spell last season. However, the Foxes have got their hands on the youngster.

While a sad day for the Goodison Park faithful, fans will expect this money to be reinvested immediately as the transfer window quickly closes behind them. With £20million from Iwobi and £7.5million from Cannon, Dyche’s side are looking serious for the remainder of the window.
The Toffees have reignited interest in Leeds United forward Willy Gnonto after having multiple bids rejected earlier in the summer. While Gnonto’s transfer saga looked to be over, Sky Sports claim that the Toffees are “back in talks” despite Leeds’ insistence that he is not for sale.
However, with the added cash from these sales, perhaps a stronger bid can be submitted to Yorkshire.
For now, Everton fans will bid Iwobi a sad farewell after his significant contribution to their campaign last season, while wishing their youth academy product Cannon good luck in his new venture in the Championship.
In other Everton news, a Ligue 1 side have submitted a late loan bid for a wantaway Toffees star.
