Everton transfer news as Alan Myers delivers verdict on Leeds United ace Wilfried Gnonto
Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers has issued his verdict on Everton signing Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto ahead of the transfer deadline.
Myers does not see the Toffees completing a move for the Italy international ahead of the 11pm deadline on Friday (1 September).
The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Goodison Park all summer but now the expectation is that he’ll be staying.
Myers wrote on Twitter, “I don’t see that happening, to be honest.”
Move on
Leeds have shown zero willingness to deal with Everton with regards to selling Gnonto all summer.
Every offer that had been made for the Italian had been turned down by the Whites.
It’s pretty clear that at this stage, no amount of money, within reason, will be enough to tempt them to sell Gnonto.

This does not mean that the Toffees do not get a new attacker, they can just move to alternate targets and try getting one of those deals over the line.
There isn’t enough time and if there is a need for someone to replace Alex Iwobi then that needs to be sorted sooner rather than later.
Right now, the Toffees look no stronger than they were last season and that’s a major cause of concern for everyone at the club.
