Everton transfer news as Alan Myers shares update on Alex Iwobi to Fulham
An announcement is expected to be made soon as Alex Iwobi is set to leave Everton and join Fulham on deadline day, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports journalist responded when asked about the Nigerian who’s been linked with an exit over the past few days.
The Evening Standard reported on 1 September that the 27-year-old will join Fulham for a £20million fee.
Myers wrote on Twitter, “Expected to be announced soon.”
Bad move
Everton may be getting decent money for Iwobi but it’s pointless if they fail to sign any replacements for him.
The wide attacker had been one of the Toffees’ best players last season as he thrived in a central midfield position under Frank Lampard.
Then, when Sean Dyche took over, he was moved back to a wide position where he also enjoyed a good time for the Merseysiders.

Dyche is an admirer of Iwobi and will be gutted by the fact that he’ll be sealing his exit from the club this summer.
Not signing Wilfried Gnonto or Kamaldeen Sulemana to replace Iwobi may go down as one of the biggest mistakes they have made.
On the balance of things, Everton do not really look that much stronger than they were in this position last season, but signing Beto certainly gives them an edge.
