Everton transfer news as Neal Maupay awaits one thing before Brentford switch
Everton striker Neal Maupay is now awaiting a green signal from the club before he can undergo his medical at Brentford, according to the Athletic.
In their live blog on 1 September at 14:50, they reported that there is also an option to make the loan move permanent.
The 27-year-old French striker has struggled since his move to Goodison Park, scoring just one goal in over 30 appearances for them.
Baffling
Alex Iwobi, Demarai Gray and Tom Cannon are three other players that could be leaving the club on transfer deadline day.
It will be baffling for most Everton fans as to why a club that finished above them for the last two seasons would want a player who’s struggling.
If he’s not good enough to take the Toffees to the next level, Brentford, who’ve arguably got better attackers, should be looking at other options.
Thomas Frank perhaps wants a reunion with him as the last club Maupay was a success at was indeed Brentford.
He moved to Brighton with everyone thinking that it would be a decent move for him but that was not the case and he struggled massively there.
Everton may be waiting to see if they can get in a new striker before the deadline ahead of giving him the green signal to move away from Goodison Park.
They surely will be hoping that the Bees exercise their option to buy as they need to get him off their books for good.
