Sky Sports share footage as Neal Maupay arrives at Brentford to complete loan exit

Everton striker Neal Maupay has arrived at Brentford ahead of signing on a season-long loan move to the West London club, with Sky Sports sharing the footage.

The sports news outlet provided the update via their Twitter account, with the French striker set to rejoin his old club on loan after just one season at Goodison Park, having arrived from Brighton last season.

Maupay had fallen down the pecking order at Everton after the club secured deals for strikers Youssef Chermiti and Beto from Sporting CP and Udiense respectively, who are both ahead of Maupay in the line for minutes.

Can he rediscover his form of old?

Maupay had a prolific season with Brentford in the Championship, as he scored 28 goals in the 2018/19 season before signing for Brighton, and will be hoping to rediscover his form in front of goal in his latest transfer move from Everton.

The Merseyside club decided Maupay was surplus to requirements at the club following at transfer window which has seen them sign two new strikers to play alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with youngster Lewis Dobbin also providing an alternative option for cover.

If Maupay hits the ground running at Brentford, the typical questions will arise as to why he was allowed to leave Goodison Park, but after a poor season that saw him score just one goal in 33 games, his exit seemed inevitable in the summer transfer window.

Everton

A loan deal means the opportunity will be left open for a return to Goodison Park next season if he does rediscover his form, and Everton will hope this could be the case. There is still time for the deal to break down before the transfer deadline arrives, but it looks unlikely at this stage.
