Everton transfer news as Demarai Gray medical claim emerges
Everton attacker Demarai Gray passed his medical at Lille transfer deadline day but did not end up leaving the club, according to Le Petit Lilois.
The French media outlet reported on Saturday (2 August) that the Toffees suddenly decided to pull out of the deal.
This prevented the Jamaica international from sealing a move to the eight-time league winners.

Iwobi exit keeps Gray
There’s a good chance that Alex Iwobi leaving for Fulham was the reason the Toffees decided to keep Gray at Goodison Park.
The developments over the Nigerian’s exit emerged in the final few days of the window so it was clear that he had his sights set on an exit.
It remains to be seen if Gray continues to stay at Goodison Park or seals a move to Saudi Arabia as their window is still open.

Sean Dyche does not really seem to be rating the 27-year-old so if he’s happy with the options he’s got, he could ask the club to cash in.
They can still bring in free agents so there could be a few targets Dyche has on his mind in case Gray leaves as well as they could be short in that area of the pitch.
In other Everton news, a club chief had revealed his plans to sign a first-team Toffees player imminently ahead of the deadline.
