Alan Myers issues update on new Everton investment proposals
Work is continuing on the investment proposals at Everton with things expected to arrive at a conclusion soon, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports news editor claims that it’s not possible to put a timeline on it given how unpredictable things are.
BBC reported in August that after talks broke down with MSP Sports Capital, the club remain in negotiations with parties elsewhere for new investment.
Myers wrote on Twitter, “Just work continuing I believe, will be coming to a conclusion pretty soon but I’m reluctant to suggest a time scale tbh, these things are unpredictable to say the least.”
Never ending
Nothing at Everton proceeds at the pace that it should and that’s one of the major reasons for the club being in relegation and financial trouble over the past few years.
Given the club’s rich history and a new stadium in a couple of years and the money spent under Carlo Ancelotti – viewed as one of the greatest managers of all time – everything pointed towards the Toffees breaking the ‘big six’ hegemony.
However, they have only gone the other way since then and nothing they’ve done over the last three months suggests that they’re in a better place.

Hopefully, signing Beto for big money in the final days of the window can bail them out of trouble but there’s only so much one player can do.
Losing Alex Iwobi too was a big blow and he wasn’t replaced either while Demarai Gray can also still leave.
It remains to be seen if the club begin to take steps in the right direction once this investment mess is sorted out.
