Everton have American and Asian investment offers on the table amid ‘huge’ verdict from Sky Sports’ Alan Myers
There are still offers on the table for Everton investment but the decision is a “huge” one and “has to be the right one” amid ongoing delays with news, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports journalist responded via Twitter on Monday (4 September) to give his verdict on the importance of the next move for the Toffees, having previously reported on 24 August that a North American group and an Asian company respectively wanted to buy a stake in the club and were “hopeful” of their bids being accepted that week.
To Myers’ knowledge there are still bids on offer but his explanation for the delay is down to the significance of what is involved.

It certainly is a “huge” decision and the past six months have been the biggest proof yet that nothing can be taken at face value until it is signed and officially announced.
That is something that Toffees fans have learned when it comes to moves in the transfer market, but the investment situation is on a different scale and the disappointment of the MSP Sports Capital withdrawal won’t have helped the concerns among the fanbase for the club’s future.
Timelines for any alternative agreement that Farhad Moshiri may enter into are extremely hard to quantify, given the previous deal was widely reported to be close since the end of last season and now won’t happen.

At the same time the changes to the Everton board, which for a time looked very much linked to the arrival of MSP Sports Capital representation, saw the club set a 48 hour deadline itself for news on Bill Kenwright’s future on 12 June, only to take 11 days to do so.
So with virtually everything a changeable feast it may be that nobody truly knows what it is set to happen next at this stage, or when.
What is clear is that Everton need to find an answer off the pitch as has been the case for months now, but in the mean time Sean Dyche needs to steady the ship on it to prevent the threat of relegation once again raising the stakes to a major degree.
In other Everton news, a journalist has claimed that the Toffees didn’t actually try properly to sign a target on deadline day.
