Dele Alli could find himself in hot water again as images of Everton star emerge

Everton star Dele Alli has been spotted with former Tottenham teammate Sergio Reguilon laughing at a parking ticket on the streets of Manchester.

As reported by the Daily Mail (6 September), Alli, who is currently out injured for the Toffees, was pictured with Reguilon after lunch getting into a car, with Alli seemingly pointing to a parking ticket with a smile on his face.

Having parked on a double-yellow line in Manchester city centre, Alli looks to face a £60 fine for the offence.

While most drivers will have picked up their fair share of road offences, Alli’s grin in the face of a fine does not come across greatly on the surface.

Of course, an image can only say so much and it is impossible to say for certain that Alli and Manchester United’s new on-loan full-back were laughing at the fine directly, but it will not sit well with many Toffees fans.

Alli has struggled since making the switch from Tottenham to Goodison Park in 2022, making just 13 appearances in all competitions and scoring no goals to date.

The 27-year-old’s career trajectory has not met early expectations of the Englishman, and a failed loan move to Turkish outfit Beşiktaş did little to boost his dwindling reputation.

A potential revival at Goodison Park is unlikely to be on the cards soon, with Sean Dyche claiming Alli is “miles away” from a return to fitness, as reported by the Daily Mail (6 August).

Alli’s past struggles were revealed in an in-depth and emotional interview with Gary Neville on The Overlap (13 July) where he discussed how his significant trauma in his youth has impacted his football and social life, so it is good at least to see him remaining social and active in the face of adversity.

The former England star will hope to shake any criticism he may receive from Everton fans as he returns to fitness.
