We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Everton...

Everton attacker Dwight McNeil has recovered quickly from an ankle injury and is expected to be fit to feature v Arsenal, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that Sean Dyche’s comments about the English winger mean he sees him as a robust player.

That’s certainly helped him recover and return to action for the Toffees, given the injury crisis at the club this early in the season.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said,

“I took Dyche’s comments as saying McNeil is a relatively robust player in terms of his health and fitness – which certainly helps with recovery.

“Dyche also followed up by saying that Mcneil would miss weeks rather than days due to the ankle ligament damage so he wasn’t downplaying the severity either.

“It seems like he’s recovered well and quickly and featured a few minutes before the international break.

“He’s now fit and likely to play against Arsenal.”

In August, Dyche admitted that McNeil does not get injured too often and expected him to recover quicker than other players would.

It’s fair to say that it’s what exactly happened and the wide attacker is expected to feature v Arsenal, whether it’s from the start or coming on in the second half.

Alex Iwobi and Demarai Gray have both left the Toffees, leaving them shy of two players in the wide areas while Jack Harrison remains injured.
