Everton takeover ‘issue’ emerges that ‘complicates matters’ as Farhad Moshiri prediction made
The construction of the new Everton stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock complicates the proposed new takeover of the club, according to Liverpool Echo journalist Dave Powell.
According to BBC Sport (12 September), the Toffees are close to being sold to Miami-based investment firm 777 Partners.
The takeover would bring an end to owner Farhad Moshiri’s time at the Goodison Park outfit, having first invested in 2016.

“The issue now is that the stadium is under construction, Powell said on BBC Radio 5 Live, as quoted by BBC Sport. “Farhad Moshiri still needs to find remaining funding for that. So as well as trying to sell a football club, you’ve got the stadium issue which complicates matters.
“Whatever happens, I think Moshiri is going to leave eventually with a fraction of the money he came in with. It’s not just a case of him leaving, the right people have to come on board to effect change at Everton.
“Who’s coming in? Are they able to turn around the tanker? Because it’s been a bruising time for Everton fans, they can’t seem to catch a break.”

Mixed news
The issue of the construction of the new stadium will not be welcome news to the Merseyside club, but it seems that finally they do have some good news amid the proposed takeover from 777 Partners.
It has been a long time coming for the Toffees, who have faced major financial difficulties behind the scenes in recent years, which has resulted in failures on the pitch.
The Merseyside outfit have been involved in a Premier League relegation fight for the past two seasons, and have started the new season in a similar fashion with zero wins from their first four matches.
But the latest takeover news should hopefully represent a turning point in their fortunes, but it remains to be seen whether or not the new group can enforce real change at the club.
Of course the sale has not yet been completed, so Everton supporters cannot afford to celebrate at this moment in time.
