Premier League takeover checks due to Everton takeover with advanced talks underway
The Premier League are due to undergo checks as advanced talks are underway with 777 Partners regarding a takeover at Everton, according to iNews.
The newspaper reported on its website on Tuesday (12 September) that a deal would need to go through the checks to establish sources of funding and what the US investment firm’s detailed business plan is.
It said that the process could “take months” to be concluded as Farhad Moshiri is in advanced talks over sanctioning the sale of the club.

Positive
The news that Moshiri is now in advanced talks to sell Everton has been well taken by fans after a couple of disappointing years for the club.
The Miami-biased company came back to the table over investing in the Blues last month after a deal with MSP Capital to take a share in the club broke down.
The Toffees owner has been looking for extra cash to help finance the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium, but he is now willing to walk away completely.

It’s likely become very apparent to him that he isn’t the man to take the club forward after the finances as well as performances on the field have suffered over the past few years.
There is still a long way to go before any deal is completed, but it does now look like there could be hope for Blues fans following a dark period in the club’s history.
