Ashley Young makes Everton takeover admission live on talkSPORT
Ashley Young has shared an admission about the potential Everton takeover by 777 Partners after it has emerged the deal could take a while to be concluded.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 14 September (09:03am), the Toffees defender said the delay isn’t what the fans “want to hear” as Farhad Moshiri looks to push through a sale to the US investment firm.
But the 38-year-old added that all the players can do is concentrate on matters on the pitch and hope that the takeover can be “run smooth” and the process be “easy” for the club.

“It isn’t what the fans want to hear,” said Young. “But us as players have got to concentrate on what goes on on the pitch, that’s all we can worry about and just hope for it to be run smooth and the process be easy for the club.
“And like I say, as players all we have got to do is go out there and produce on the pitch.”
Out of his control
It won’t come as too much of a surprise to hear Young say the players’ focus has to be on matters on the pitch because the situation is out of their control.
But what they can do is perform to their best abilities to try and help Everton pick up some points over the next few weeks and improve the atmosphere around the club.
Just like the fans, the players won’t want there to be months of speculation around whether or not a takeover is going to take place because it could be a bit unsettling.

But it looks likely to be the case after questions have been asked about 777 Partners’ finances and whether or not the company would be suitable to take over a Premier League club.
As for Young, he will be looking to use all his experience in the game to help the Blues improve their fortunes this season and not be drawn into another relegation battle.
