Everton fan wants Sean Dyche out amid 777 Partners takeover news, calls for Graham Potter to replace him

An Everton fan has demanded that 777 Partners sack Sean Dyche as manager and replace him with Graham Potter after their takeover agreement on Friday.

The Miami-based investment firm have agreed a deal with Farhad Moshiri to buy his 94.1% stake in the club, with a deal expected to be completed after checks are done in the final quarter of 2023.

And reacting to the news on talkSPORT (15 September), Toffees fan Mike phoned into the Jime White and Simon Jordan show and demanded that they sack Dyche as soon as they arrive and replace him with the former Chelsea and Brighton boss Potter.

“I’m happy and the first thing they can do is get Dyche out,” he said.

“You get rid of him. He hasn’t got a plan B. Dyche never has a plan B. What we did at Villa, we fell apart.

“We should have beat Fulham at home, the second home game against Wolves we should have beat them. He never, ever, ever pushes forward.

“Our midfield are too deep every time we counter attack.”

Jim White then stated that now was the time support Dyche, but Mike wasn’t having any of it.

“Nah, he’s useless, get him out he’s a clown. He doesn’t know what he’s doing.

“Graham Potter is sat there doing nothing. Get rid of Dyche and get Potter in charge now. That’s what I would do.

“The minute they come in just put Potter in charge and say right, there you go.”

Mental

Obviously if there was an opportunity for Everton to appoint Graham Potter as manager then it is something that should be looked into, but this fan has surely lost the plot.

Dyche has been good for us at stabilising the club and team on the pitch since he came in and while he hasn’t ripped up any trees, we’re much better now than we have been for a while.

Results haven’t gone our way but performances have been much better, which he even acknowledged by saying we should have beaten Fulham and Wolves, so if the players had done their job on the pitch you’d have to assume his opinion would be different.

Dyche is popular at Goodison Park and if the new owners want to come in and sack him immediately without any just cause then it would be the perfect way for them to create enemies within the fan base quickly.

It could be something to look at in the coming months if results don’t pick up, but there is certainly no need for an immediate change right now.
