Everton injury news as Lewis Dobbin, Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski fit to start Arsenal clash – BBC Sport

Everton are set to be boosted ahead of Sunday’s clash with Arsenal with Lewis Dobbin and James Tarkowski both available for selection, according to BBC Sport.

The UK news outlet (15 September) shares that both of Dyche’s first team stars along with Jarrad Branthwaite have all overcome minor issues and are available to feature at Goodison Park on Sunday 16 September.

Dyche also confirmed in his press conference on Friday afternoon [Liverpool Echo] that striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also back in the fold after recovering from a facial injury as the Toffees aim to record their first win of the campaign.

Inspired performance and result needed

While the results this season have been anything but good, the performances haven’t been so bad from Dyche’s men and they can certainly some form of encouragement moving forward.

The Toffees should have beaten Wolves and Fulham after some dreadful clear-cut chances missed, while the Sheffield United draw could easily have been a win too but for some lapses in concentration in defence.

It certainly seems as if Everton’s problems are always self-destructive and they simply cannot afford to perform as such against an Arsenal side entering this contest in fine form and buoyed by their 3-1 win over Manchester United before the international break.

While there is much talk surrounding the 777 partners’ imminent takeover at Goodison Park [BBC Sport, 15 September], Dyche has to ensure his team quieten down all the noise as they look to record their first win of the campaign against the Gunners.

It’s an incredibly challenging game for Dyche and his men and one which Arsenal will be expected to pick up the three points.

But, Everton aren’t strangers to throwing spanners in the works when the Gunners come to town as they found out last season in February and also the season before last under Rafa Benitez.

Can they continue that impressive home run against a team expected to go toe-to-toe with leaders Manchester City again?

In other Everton news, a player stance has emerged on a potential free transfer move to Goodison Park.
