Manager questions ‘strange’ Everton takeover timing as ‘worry’ claim made live on talkSPORT
Former Leeds United assistant manager Karl Robinson has questioned the “strange” timing of the agreed takeover of Everton by 777 Partners.
The group have agreed to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s full stake in the club, according to the official Everton website (15 September).
But ex-Oxford United manager Robinson is worried about what impact the new owners will have on the Merseyside club.

“I do worry sometimes when these investors come in, you look at Manchester United and the trouble they are having with certain investors,” Robinson said live on talkSPORT. “You don’t know quite whether they are going to get it right.
“I’ve seen the new stadium, it looks great, but we have to wait and see. Unfortunately for the Everton fans, what they will say is that it’s a week too late because of the transfer window. What can they do?
“If this would have been a few weeks earlier, they might have been able to spend a little bit more money. It’s strange that they’ve waited until the end of the window before the takeover gets done. And now they will have to wait until January before they can do anything with the team.”

Surely welcome news
Everton supporters will surely be welcoming the takeover news regarding Moshiri and 777 Partners, with the club having endured a miserable time of late in terms of finances.
It may take some time for the new owners to put things right in this regard, but it seemingly cannot be much worse than the running of the club by Moshiri.
Many fans may think that the current man in charge has done his best and has poured plenty of money to help the Toffees, but at the same time they will be wanting a change behind the scenes.
And they will want the change to happen as soon as possible amid the club’s really disappointing start to the new Premier League season.
Sean Dyche may just have the same opinion as Robinson that the takeover should have happened during the summer, allowing the Toffees to spend a bit more money on much-needed new faces.
