Sean Dyche sack verdict at Everton shared ahead of Arsenal and Brentford games

Paul Brown believes that Sean Dyche could feel the pressure of losing his Everton job if the Arsenal and Brentford games do not go as planned.

The Give Me Sport journalist said on Saturday (16 September) that things are unlikely to get easier for the Toffees manager so they need quick results.

They take on the Gunners at Goodison Park on 17 September and then travel to the Bees on the following weekend.

Brown said, “I don’t think it gets any easier for Sean Dyche or Everton because the next two games do look quite daunting. I think when a lot of Everton fans looked at the fixtures to open the season, they thought this looked like quite a soft opening.

“Then they lost three games in a row and only managed to draw against Sheffield United. I think that does put some pressure on the manager. It’s entirely possible that they don’t get a good result from either of the next two either. That will put him under even more pressure.”

Results business

While it’s equally important that managers are given time, they need to prove that they’re worth that luxury.

Dyche has been at the club since January and managed to keep the side up in the Premier League against all odds.

That certainly bought him some time and he does not seem to walking on tenterhooks despite the poor start to the season or the change of ownership.

However, should they lose most of their next five games and still fail to register a win on the board, questions will start being asked.

Right now, Luton Town and Burnley clearly seem to be worse than them and Sheffield United are also having issues of their own.

This is keeping Everton off the foot of the table but they need to do something to get themselves out of this mess and Dyche needs to come up with a plan.
