Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jack Harrison update emerges live on Sky Sports from Everton training ahead of Brentford clash
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jack Harrison are both in Everton training ahead of the clash with Brentford in a “massive boost” to the club, according to Sanny Rudravajhala.
The journalist reported live from Finch Farm for Sky Sports News on Thursday (21 September) to share the news that the star Toffees striker and the summer loan signing were out on training pitches and may be available to face the Bees at the weekend.
Everton have started the season with four defeats from five, scoring in only one game, but there is new “positivity” from the fact that Leeds United loanee Harrison appears to be back and could be a “creative force”.
Rudravajhala said: “Dominic Calvert-Lewin is obviously a massive boost for them… still looking for their first win and really struggling for change creation.
“They play Brentford on Saturday, but there is some positivity – Jack Harrison, who could be a bit of a creative force for Everton, he joined on loan from Leeds United in the summer but he’s had a hip injury ever since, but he could be in line for his debut. We’re guessing that based on the fact that he’s actually out there training at the moment.”
All hands on deck
It remains to be seen whether they will actually be in the starting XI for Sean Dyche in West London on 23 September but the manager being able to call on the previously injured pair has to improve the team’s chances of getting a result.
Beto’s arrival has somewhat eased the pressure on Calvert-Lewin’s shoulders, but the Portuguese forward needs service just as the Englishman does.
Harrison therefore might be even more important and if he can make his Toffees debut it could help bring the best out of whichever striker is on the pitch.

Dyche needs points both personally and collectively, as his job is coming in for questioning amid the poor start to the season, and the club desperately need to get away from the relegation zone.
Everton have spent far too much time in or close to the bottom three over the past two years, and with the long-term future of the club thought to be in jeopardy if they go down, let alone what it would mean for the proposed takeover, points on the board are a must.
Injuries seem to be a near-constant at Goodison Park but finally some positive news on a key attacking pair has come out and should improve hopes for the weekend.
In other Everton news, a two-time national manager of the year has been mooted as a replacement for Dyche in a complicated scenario.
