Gabby Agbonlahor predicts Everton showdown v Brentford in Premier League

Gabby Agbonlahor has predicted a tough game for Everton as they visit Brentford in the Premier League, insisting that a heavy defeat is on the cards.

The talkSPORT pundit claimed the form of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa will be difficult for the Everton defence to deal with, predicting it will finish 3-0.

He also stated his belief that the West London outfit will find the game to be comfortable, after Everton’s poor start to the season in which they have only managed to score in one of their opening five Premier League games.

Speaking via talkSPORT’s social media channels on 21 September, Agbonlahor gave his prediction: “Saturday 17:30, we’ve got Brentford at home against Everton.

“I think this is going to be a tough game for Everton – Brentford [have] Mbeumo, Wissa in top, top form, scoring goals, [getting] assists, a lot of pace and power as well.

“I think it’s going to be a tough game for Everton, I can see them being beaten 3-0 I’m going to go, I think it’s going to be a comfortable win for Brentford – they’ve got too much to offer.”

Everton need to turn their form around

With just two goals in their first five games, both coming in the visit to Sheffield United and having lost four of their opening five games to nil, the Toffees are in desperate need of results and better performances if they wish to avoid the drop.

Games against Fulham, Wolves and Sheffield United in particular should be circled as games Dyche’s side should be winning, particularly at Goodison Park as was the case with the defeats to Fulham and Wolves.

Visiting Brentford provides it’s own problems. They have shown very good form at the Brentford Community Stadium throughout their spell in the Premier League, and have displayed they’re capable of beating any team. This will be a tough game for the Toffees.

Coming off the back of a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, it appears things may well get worse before they get better, with their next two games against Brentford and Aston Villa, the latter in the League Cup, looking difficult.

The real questions should be asked in the run following these games when Everton face Luton and Bournemouth in two must-win home encounters.
