Robbie Savage predicts score of Everton v Brentford, shares ‘really tough’ verdict

Robbie Savage has predicted Brentford will beat Everton when the sides meet in the Premier League on Saturday (23 September).

Speaking to Football365 on Thursday (21 September), the pundit said he believes it will be “really tough” for the Toffees as they “can’t score goals”.

He added that the game in West London gives them an “opportunity” to pick up some more points, but he doesn’t expect them to score again as he predicted a 2-0 win for the Bees.

“It’s going to be really tough for Sean Dyche’s side,” said Savage. “They can’t score goals. Luckily for them, this game is away from home because they just can’t score a goal at Goodison Park.

“This game gives them an opportunity to get more points on the board but I don’t think they will. I thought Brentford were unlucky not to get anything at Newcastle last time out.

“I just think being at Brentford, I think Brentford will win the game and I’ve got to say Everton to nil again. I’m going 2-0 Brentford.”

Unsuprising

It won’t come as too much of a surprise to see that Savage has predicted Everton to lose again after they have only picked up one point so far this season.

As Savage points out, the problem has been scoring goals, having failed to find the back of the net in four of their opening five Premier League games.

Despite only winning one of their first five matches, Brentford have managed to register eight times this season and will be looking to add to that total in front of their home fans.

It won’t be an easy game by any means given the style of play the Bees employ, but the Blues have to stand up to the challenge and start putting points on the board.

While it is still early in the season, they simply can’t afford to be left behind down at the bottom, with anything other than a defeat likely to be seen as a positive result this weekend.

In other Everton news, a £4million payoff update has emerged to sack Sean Dyche.
