Sean Dyche could start James Garner and Andre Gomes v Liverpool as midfield changes planned
Sean Dyche is considering starting James Garner and Andre Gomes in midfield in the coming weeks as he plots a shake up to his Everton team, report Liverpool Echo.
Dyche has preferred a midfield three of Abdoulaye Doucoure, Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana for much of his reign but after four losses in five games this season he is considering changes.
And a report in the local news outlet (23 September) claims that Portugal international Gomes could get the nod despite being on the verge of an exit for most of the summer window that just passed.

“Sean Dyche assessing Everton midfield options as James Garner and Andre Gomes considered,” they wrote.
“Sean Dyche is considering changes for Everton’s next fixtures with James Garner and Andre Gomes considered for starting roles.”
Change
It would be crazy of Dyche and Everton to stick with this team over and over again if it doesn’t start to produce results really quickly.
When you go attribute for attribute it’s clear that they have everything Dyche wants in a midfield, but they’re not performing as a trio and it’s costing us even this early in the campaign.

With top options like Garner and Gomes available to us, it makes no sense not to use them in some capacity and to give them the opportunity in place of under-performing players is the logical thing to do.
We know Garner is capable of performing well as he was a big reason for our survival last season, and if Gomes can rediscover the form that got us to splash out cash on him from Barcelona then we have a top technician there too.
Everton can’t keep losing games and just expecting things to change without doing something about it, and this could well be the answer.
