Pundit gushes over Everton striker Beto after what he did v Brentford

Michael Ball has been left thrilled with the performance of Everton striker Beto in the 3-1 win against Brentford on Saturday, 23 September.

The summer signing started the game and while he did not find the back of the net, he proved to be a constant thorn in the Bees side.

His aerial ability saw him being a threat in the final third and that benefited all the players playing around him.

Ball told the Liverpool Echo on 25 September, “I thought Beto was brilliant, all he was missing was a goal, he played outstanding and caused a lot of problems and that’s the level we want at the football club. I’m absolutely made up for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to get that goal too.”

Looks the part

Beto looks every bit the striker Sean Dyche needs to build a side around.

He’s tall, strong, good in the air and most importantly, can find the back of the net on a regular basis.

While he may not have scored against Brentford, it was refreshing to see him getting into the right positions and looking to make things happen.

He’s slowly building a good chemistry with all his teammates and that would be something that would’ve pleased the manager.

Dyche has always relied on the tall target man to be the out ball, especially under pressure and having players comfortable on the ball, they can always find the Portuguese in the final third.

It also will be interesting to see if against Luton Town, Dominic Calvert-Lewin starts alongside Beto as there’s every reason to believe that there could be a lethal partnership in the works there.

In other Everton news, a condition has now emerged on Sean Dyche being sacked amid trouble behind the scenes at Goodison Park.
