Everton considering move for PSG striker Hugo Ekitike, they want him gone
Everton are considering a January transfer deal for Paris Saint-Germain striker Hugo Ekitike, with his departure “on the agenda” at the Parc des Princes after deadline day drama, according to Le 10 Sport.
The French news outlet shared on 29 September that Everton, joined by West Ham, Crystal Palace, Wolves and AC Milan, are keen on providing Ekitike with a way out of Paris.
West Ham and Crystal Palace were at the centre of deadline day drama surrounding Ekitike, with the forward trying to force a move without the knowledge of his club, leading to his current predicament where he is not wanted [Sky Sports, 1 September].
Links to strikers persist
Despite the club having signed Beto and Youssef Chermiti in the summer transfer window, and the apparent reemergence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin as he looks to get back to his best, reports linking Everton to new strikers are persisting.
The player probably suits the move to London more, with either West Ham or Crystal Palace able to provide more regular football than he would get at Everton, but his consistent links to the Toffees could prove the interest is real.
Equally, though, it’s entirely possible the name is just being thrown in to generate further interest. Ekitike needs to leave PSG in January, there is no future for him at the club, and if it is perceived he has tons of interest it would do no disservice to his chances.
Ultimately, if the rumours do have an element of truth to them, it could be an exciting signing at Goodison Park. At just 21 years old, the striker has proved he can perform at the very top level, and would almost certainly improve Dyche’s side.
In other Everton news, a report has linked the Toffees to a triple swoop for England stars.
