Everton in talks over Castore deal despite 777 Partners agreement collapse
Everton are set to agree a deal with Castore to manufacture their kit as the existing contract with Hummel expires at the end of the season, according to The Telegraph.
The newspaper reported via their website on Monday night (2 October) that Aston Villa and Newcastle United are already set to cut short their kit deals with Castore while Genoa, a club owned by potential future Everton owners 777, have also exited their arrangement “over reported supply and delivery issues”.
It is understood that despite already being ditched once by 777 this year, talks between Everton and Castore are not being hampered by recent developments.

The Telegraph adds: “Everton’s current deal with Hummel runs out at the end of this season and sources with knowledge of the situation claim Castore are in line to take their place.”
Speaking about recent issues regarding their products, a Castore spokesperson said: “There has been some media speculation about a potential issue in the football kit supplied by Castore to Aston Villa Football Club. We are working closely in collaboration with the club to address this issue as quickly as possible to meet the standards we expect. We would like to thank the club for their patience and support to date.
“As a proud new British brand, we always hold ourselves to the highest of standards and strive to do everything we can to constantly improve the performance of our products. This means addressing any customer concerns with promptness and humility.”
Dicey
Castore are being cut loose left, right and centre.
Aston Villa have complained about how their kit for this season retains sweat, making them uncomfortable to play in.
That hasn’t really hindered the Villans based on their position in the league and the fact they battered Brighton 6-1 at the weekend but it says a lot about the quality of the production of these kits.
Newcastle, on the other hand, have invoked an “exit clause” in their agreement with Castore to enable them to find a new kit provider at the end of this season. However, the Magpies have no issues with Castore’s kit quality.

Genoa is an odd one because they’ve had problems with Manchester-based company, who were initially founded eight years ago on Merseyside.
You would have thought that 777 Partners would have a say in this because they’ve dealt with Castore first hand recently and haven’t had that good of an experience with them.
We’ll see what happens here.
In other Everton news, this Liverpool star will return from injury in time to play in the Merseyside derby.
