777 investment key to Sean Dyche’s future amid ‘so, so bad’ Everton finances – Paul Brown

The amount 777 Partners are willing to invest in Everton will determine how safe Sean Dyche’s position at the club is, according to Phil Brown.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT (3 October), the journalist noted the Toffees’ continued financial woes which have led to 777 loaning the club money to make ends meet.

Dyche’s position after any takeover remains unknown but once unanswered questions are answered, the situation will become more clear.

Brown said: “The situation is so, so bad behind the scenes that they are needing loan money from this potential buyer just to keep paying the bills essentially.

“So I think it will depend really, how much money 777 are willing to put into the club and how much is left for things like that. That will decide how safe Dyche is. Until those questions are answered, we can’t really say.”

Precarious

While Dyche’s future remains unclear, he will likely stay at the club for the near unless Everton’s poor form continues. Few expected the Toffees to be thriving this season, but relegation will be keenly avoided at almost any cost.

Everton’s primary focus is keeping the club running, which is currently largely dependent on 777’s loaning them the cash to keep the lights on. If Dyche is keeping the club away from the relegation zone, that would likely be enough to keep 777 for this season.

Should the takeover go through, the quality of the football and the results on the pitch should become the priority. 777 are not exactly reliable sources of cash, with The Guardian reporting (2 October) that they have a Fifa sanction following £4.5million worth of unpaid transfer fees at their club Vasco da Gama.

Many question marks remain regarding the investment group, which will not go far in alleviating Everton fans’ worries. With the future looking uncertain, all involved with the club will hope an appropriate solution is found.
