777 Partners push Everton takeover forward as positives emerges – Finance Expert

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton

Dan Plumley has insisted that 777 Partners are taking positive steps ahead of their prospective takeover of Everton in the coming months.

Josh Wander was spotted at Goodison Park for the Premier League clash against Luton recently, and his consortium has held talks with fan groups and Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotherham.

The finance expert admitted that despite these positive steps, there are still narratives needing to be addressed by 777 Partners with a long way to go in this takeover.

“It’s certainly the right play to make, isn’t it,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“If you’re any new owner coming in, you want to be doing these things, we perceive they are the right things to do – speaking to the fans, attending games and getting involved at board level.

It’s all hitting the right notes, obviously, as always there is a waiting game on it, we know there are some other stories with that investment group that need to be ironed out and looked at, but if you’re a new perspective person coming in to own a football club, you should be doing these things they are doing.

That can be seen as a positive sign in terms of pushing this thing forward, but as I said before, it’s a long way to go as we’re still only talking about a deal in principle and there is a lot of narrative that needs to be unpicked for Everton, but certainly, these appearances and talks seem to be a positive step.”
