Everton player ratings v Bournemouth: Ashley Young flops, Jack Harrison stars
Everton ended their poor run of form with an impressive 3-0 victory against Bournemouth at Goodison Park on Saturday, 7 October.
James Garner opened the scoring for the hosts with Jack Harrison scoring a sensational long ranger to make it 2-0.
Harrison played a key role in ensuring that Abdoulaye Doucoure added a third and put the result beyond all doubt.

Here are our player ratings from the game:
Jordan Pickford – 6
Was called into making a reaction save in the 82nd minute with Kieffer Moore’s header and did that no questions asked. Had a quiet game because of how well the defenders were throughout the game.
Ashley Young – 2
It takes something to stand out as a bad performer after an impressive home victory, but that happened with Young. He picked up a needless yellow card and looked shaky in possession on numerous occasions. Had it been a more serious opposition, Dyche would’ve paid the price for starting him there. The Cherries targeted the Everton right-back from the start.

James Tarkowski – 7.5
Tarkowski was surprisingly the highest chance creator in the first half with two to his name and that was courtesy of how good he was in the air in the opposition penalty area. He also looked comfortable in possession and did his defensive duties well. Absolutely incredible display.
Jarrad Branthwaite – 8
Another tremendous display from the centre-back who’s quickly becoming a fan favourite at the club. Despite being up against physical strikers, he did not look out of place and did extremely well to deal with whatever was thrown at him.
Vitaliy Mykolenko – 6
Got better as the game went on and is clearly the best left-back option Dyche has. Young has been tried there but the Ukrainian is providing the perfect balance between defence and attack for the Toffees.
Jack Harrison – 9
Undoubtedly the Man of the Match. Showed his class with a finish to make it 2-0 which is going to end up in Goal of the Season contenders for sure. For the third goal, his brilliant header was well blocked and Doucoure easily slotted the ball into the back of the net. The Leeds loanee looked lively from start to end and he’s proving to be an unbelievable signing.

James Garner – 7
Started in a more comfortable central position and would have been delighted to find the back of the net that early in the game. He also worked well off the ball to close down the opponents and did not allow them to play through the middle easily.
Abdoulaye Doucoure – 8
Much like Garner, was lively in the middle of the park and formed a midfield three without the ball and joined in attack whenever possible on the front foot. It was undoubtedly a solid performance from him and he deserved to find the back of the net.
Amadou Onana – 6
Wasn’t supposed to start but came in after Idrissa Gueye was injured in the warmup. It wasn’t a poor performance for the Belgian and he certainly did what Dyche would’ve wanted him to.
Dwight McNeil – 7
Was toying with the Cherries players on the left flank and it was one of his best performances in an Everton jersey. He played a number of telling balls into the box and always looked like he was trying to make something happen for the hosts.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 6
Did not find the back of the net but his all-round play was spectacular and he contributed a lot towards the three points. He held the ball up well and drifted out into the channels to ensure the likes of Doucoure, Harrison and McNeil got a chance to bomb forward and fancy their luck in front of goal.
