Everton to make serious move for Blackburn wizard Adam Wharton after Newcastle United development
Everton are set to make a serious move to sign Blackburn Rovers midfielder Adam Wharton, according to Alan Nixon.
The newspaper journalist reported on his Patreon on Sunday (8 October) that Newcastle United are expected to make a second bid to sign the 19-year-old “wizard”.
He said the Magpies watched the England U-19 international in action last week, while the Toffees are “long-term fans” and are expected to make a move to secure his signature in the New Year.

Promising
This is a promising development for Everton fans as the club are looking to snap up one of the Championship’s most sought-after talents.
It’s no surprise to hear that there is plenty of interest in the teenager, though, with Nixon reporting that Brighton and Crystal Palace are also in the race to secure a deal for him.
He revealed that Blackburn’s hierarchy could be forced into selling him if they aren’t involved in the promotion mix by the time January comes around, with the club currently sitting 17th in the table.

The midfielder broke into Rovers’ first team last season and went on to score two goals and lay on two assists in 22 appearances.
He has already played in 11 matches for the Lancashire side at the start of this campaign and the interest is only likely to increase in him as January approaches.
