Everton quartet make Premier League Team of the Week with WhoScored ratings revealed

Everton enjoyed a thrilling week in the Premier League as they raced to a 3-0 victory at Goodison Park against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Goals from James Garner, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Jack Harrison ensured the Toffees secured their first home victory of the campaign and the first time they scored more than two goals in 17 games.

And WhoScored announced on Monday (9 October) their Premier League team of the week with Garner, Doucoure, Harrison and James Tarkowski all included after their exceptional performances.

On-loan attacker Harrison recorded the “second highest” WhoScored rating with 8.56/10 along with Tottenham defender Cristian Romero.

Superb result

Harrison’s strike was a delightful and courageous effort from outside the box, a goal which certainly showed his true mettle and character on the football pitch. He also showed why Leeds United were so reluctant to let him go.

Amid their early season woes, many Everton fans forgot about Harrison’s return from injury, and many did not expect him to have such a big impact so quickly but he’s proven already a key forward for Sean Dyche.

Everton

Per FBRef, Harrison is already generating 5.16 shot-creating actions per 90, the second highest in the Everton squad. While his sample size is smaller than most of his teammates (1.4 90s played), it reflects the instant impact he’s had since coming into the side.

In a right-wing role where Dyche desperately needs invention and imagination in the final third, Harrison possesses all the hallmarks to be an instant hit at Goodison Park and his strike is worthy of him being the pick of the bunch in the latest team of the week.

The international break now hands Dyche the chance to mull over Saturday’s result and build towards the Premier League’s return as the Toffees definitely need some points on the board and as long as they have Harrison fit and firing, they have every chance of doing just that.

In other Everton news, Dyche may have made a masterstroke behind-the-scenes decision after recently confirmed contract news on Merseyside.
