Lewis Dobbin surely set for Everton transfer exit in January after yet another Sean Dyche snub in 3-0 win v Bournemouth
Everton wonderkid Lewis Dobbin used to be the talk of Goodison Park once upon a time, now he’s an unfortunate afterthought under Sean Dyche which could well lead to a probable exit in January.
The 20-year-old, perhaps due to a lack of squad depth, has been handed four appearances in all competitions by Sean Dyche so far.
But his last appearance for the club came in the EFL Cup win over Doncaster Rovers at the back end of August, since then he’s been a bench warmer in all five of Everton’s games [SofaScore] making him a forgotten man at Goodison Park.

Dyche’s decisions to leave him out of the firing line have been understandable given the recent pressure the club has been under in recent weeks, responsibilities which wouldn’t have been easy for any youngster.
And despite his youth, he is doing his best to lead from the front when given the chance, with the attacker registering 9.97 sprinting pressures per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season [Sky Sports, 4 September], placing him among the top-four players in this statistic.
Only Tottenham star Son Heung-min (11.49), Sheffield United ace Gustavo Hamer (11.44) and former Toffees man Anthony Gordon (10.30) boast a higher figure at that point.

It shows that the Everton youngster is keen to put in a shift when given the chance by Dyche, a characteristic that has been lacking in many other players at the club in recent years.
The Toffees have always been a club founded on their academy players and built upon from there but that hasn’t been the case with Dobbin, who was unfortunately snubbed once again as Everton recorded their first home win of the campaign in a 3-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday (7 October).
With so many options now at Dyche’s disposal after Harrison’s return to form and fitness, it’s unlikely the Everton faithful will see Dobbin again for the next few months.

For that reason, he could well look to seek pastures new in January. His development and learning at the highest level depend on this crucial exit decision, even if it is on a temporary basis.
Dobbin is a talent simply too good to be rotting on the bench.
In other Everton news, Dyche may have made a masterstroke behind-the-scenes decision after recently confirmed contract news on Merseyside.
