Andrew Robertson injury emerges ahead of Liverpool v Everton as left-back sent back to Anfield

Injury news has emerged about Andy Robertson ahead of the Everton clash against Liverpool on 21 October.

Speaking after Scotland’s game against Spain on Thursday (12 October), manager Steve Clarke revealed (via Paul Joyce) that the left-back hurt his shoulder in his country’s 2-0 defeat.

The 29-year-old was seen exiting the field with his arm in a sling, with the Scottish boss adding that he would take no further part in the internationals and would be heading back to Anfield.

Unlikely

It seems incredibly unlikely that Robertson will be fit in time to play against Everton next week after suffering a nasty-looking shoulder injury.

The fact Scotland have already sent him home shows the magnitude of the injury and that it won’t be a quick fix for the Liverpool defender.

That will be a major loss for the Reds as he is one of the leaders in their side and he adds an attacking threat going forward but also stability at the back.

It means Jurgen Klopp is likely to have to call upon Konstantinos Tsimikas to fill in for his teammate on the left-hand side of the defence.

While it will be a tough game for the Toffees, the injury to Robertson probably does improve their chances of going to Anfield and claiming a positive result.
