Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin salary update emerges

Everton striker is understood to be earning around £120k/week on his current deal at Goodison Park, according to Ben Winstanley.

The View From the Bullens host told Give Me Sport that the next deal will probably be his last big contract given his age.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Toffees do end up giving him north of that amount whenever talks are to be held.

Winstanley said, “If the shoe is on the other foot, he’s already on quite a lot of money. Just shy of six figures I’m led to believe. So, do you offer him more money again? £110k-£120k-a-week? He’s going to want that new, big, improved contract.

“It could be his last big contract. So, Everton have got to get the facts and figures down and hopefully, we will sell it to Calvert-Lewin. But, on his day, when he’s fit and firing, he’s one of the best centre-forwards. He’s a proper battering ram and he’s an Everton centre-forward through and through.”

Worth it?

There aren’t abundant funds at Goodison Park and the club has got to be wary as to who they dish out big contracts to.

Calvert-Lewin may be among the biggest names and liked by the fans, but his fitness record has been appalling, to say the least.

Saying he’s unplayable when fit is fine, but if these instances are one or two months every season, then he’s clearly got some issues that continue to play up constantly.

If from now until when talks begin he manages to stay fit and continues to find the back of the net regularly, then by all means, he merits more money.

However, in recent years he has not shown that he does so the club will probably be careful with that.

Fans and Sean Dyche will be hoping that he and Beto can find a way to play together as that will make the attack look even more lethal.

In other Everton news, a condition has now emerged on Sean Dyche being sacked amid trouble behind the scenes at Goodison Park.
