Everton midfielder Andre Gomes positive fitness update shared by Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Everton...
Everton midfielder Andre Gomes has been out with a notorious calf injury that’s troubled him since the start of the season, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert believes that it’s premature to put a return date on the Portugal international as he’s faced setbacks over recent months.
However, an assessment will be made over the international break so he could be back in action at any time depending on when the medical staff greenlights his return.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“He’s been dealing with calf problems all season and these can be extremely sensitive, notorious and prone to re-injury.
“These are quite touch and go so it’s anyone’s guess when he may be back and it could be in the coming days.
“He’s expected to be assessed during the international break so it’s best to wait for the club to confirm the news.“

Gomes was linked with an exit from Goodison Park in the summer as well as after the British transfer window slammed shut.
Clubs in Turkey were also linked with his services, but he ended up staying at the club but is yet to feature this season.
Sean Dyche said that he always intended to keep the midfielder at the club so it now remains to be seen how he fares.
In other Everton news, a condition has now emerged on Sean Dyche being sacked amid trouble behind the scenes at Goodison Park.
