777 want to broker £80m deal for two Everton fans to switch sides in takeover bid

777 Partners want Everton fans Andy Bell and George Downing to join their bid to buy the Merseyside club, according to Alan Nixon.

The journalist reported via Patreon on Sunday (15 October) that Bell and Downing have already put £80million into the Toffees while working with previous takeover bidders MSP Sports Capital.

The Times reported on 15 September that Bell and Downing have contributed millions towards the construction of Everton’s new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Nixon claims that 777 now want Bell and Downing to switch sides and join them so they don’t have to pay back their loan and raise the cost of their takeover at Goodison Park.

Already trimming costs

There’s been a lot of talk about how 777 taking of Everton would be a disaster for the Premier League club.

All you need to do is to look at the troubles other clubs in their portfolio have been through in recent times.

It’s understandable for businessmen to try and save money but with all the other stories floating about around 777, the fact they’re trying to trim the cost of a takeover suggests they may not have the money needed to acquire Everton from Farhad Moshiri.

It’ll be interesting to see what Bell and Downing do and whether they join the 777 takeover bid at Goodison. Or they could seek their money back from the Americans.

However, in doing that, they could be hurting 777’s takeover chances and therefore potentially ending the deal and allowing Moshiri to continue in charge.

We’ll have to wait and see how this pans out but it’s not exactly bad news. It’s kind of expected news.
