Everton fans will be desperate to show Farhad Moshiri the door after new Alan Myers 777 Partners takeover update

The regulatory process around 777 Partners’ takeover of Everton is expected to be completed in December which could now surely activate the countdown within the fanbase till when Farhad Moshiri finally departs.

Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers shared the news via his personal Twitter account that the purchase of Farhad Moshiri’s shares in the club are still undergoing regulatory checks, but that process will be completed by the end of the year.

This news certainly comes as great news for the Everton fans with hopes beginning to emerge that the takeover can be complete in time for the January transfer window if all of the necessary checks are cleared.

More crucially, Myers’ update will come as a huge sense of relief for the Toffees faithful who are certainly heavily expectant of Moshiri’s inevitable departure at Goodison Park.

The Everton majority shareholder has been never too far from controversy, especially over the past year or so, with his recent handling of the recent Bill Kenwright exit saga, the issue involving the Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov and several others including the club’s worrying financial state behind the scenes which has certainly landed him in plenty of hot water on several occasions amongst the whole football club.

Even now, Moshiri is wrapped up in more controversy with both himself and Josh Wander providing “no meaningful answers” with their latest comments regarding the takeover situation at Goodison Park.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (16 October), The Esk again questioned if 777 Partners are the right people to take the Toffees forward.

It comes on the back of Moshiri reiterating his support of the American investment fund in an interview with Sky Sports [15 October], while Wander defended 777’s handling of other clubs in its portfolio.

The Esk posted: “The latest comments by Moshiri & Josh Wander provide no meaningful answers as to why 777 represent the best future owner for Everton, why their flat multi-club model benefits Everton & how they provide the £ & managerial resources uniquely required by #EFC as a result of years of mismanagement.”

While the takeover situation is throwing up more and more questions than answers regarding 777 Partners’ suitability in becoming new owners at Goodison Park and their recent handling of several other clubs on their portfolio, it is obviously clear the Everton fans would like nothing more than to see the back of Moshiri.

Everton

Under his disastrous ownership, Everton have been associated with dysfunction, turmoil and controversy for so long which has caused the majority of the Toffees support to voice their criticism and raging concerns, and understandably so.

The whole club fanbase wants to see changes, and it looks as if the new potential owners want to also, and for that to happen, Moshiri should not be involved in any day-to-day runnings or behind-the-scenes decisions any longer.

There are still serious questions with regards to the source of 777’s money, and exactly how they will not just help with the day-to-day running of the club, but also help finance transfer deals.

The Premier League may yet reject the approach, but it is looking more and more likely that this is a takeover that will go through and a huge portion of the Everton fanbase will now be counting down the days until Moshiri packs his bags for good at Goodison Park.

777 Partners may well be considered a necessary evil to finally release Everton from Moshiri’s disastrous handiwork.

In other Everton news, a pundit has claimed that the Toffees have a player in their squad that “every team in the world” would want.
