Injury Expert shares early Everton team news v Liverpool

Idrissa Gueye, Seamus Coleman and Andre Gomes are all doubts for the Merseyside derby clash between Everton and Liverpool, while Dele Alli has been ruled out, according to Ben Dinnery.

The injury expert shared on his website Premier Injuries that Dele is the only player definitely ruled out of the clash with Liverpool on Saturday 21 October, while Gueye’s recovery from the injury that ruled him against Bournemouth before the international break has left him with a 50 per cent chance of featuring at Anfield.

Gomes could be set to make his first appearance under the management of Sean Dyche as he also sits at 50 per cent, while Coleman is closing in on his return to action having last played for the Toffees in Everton, with Dinnery saying he’s only 25 per cent fit.

All three however could be included in the Toffees squad for the match against Jurgen Klopp’s side, although it is much more likely that Gueye and Gomes make the trip across Liverpool than the Irish full-back.

Nearly fully fit

Dyche is closing in on having a fully fit squad at his disposal as nearly all of his long-term absentees return to the fold or are at least back in training, barring Dele who has never been available during the former Burnley manager’s tenure at Goodison.

However, the Everton boss will be hoping that Gueye recovers in time for the trip to Anfield as the Senegalese star is one of Dyche’s most trusted players and has started all seven of the Premier League matches that he has been available for and only missed the clash with Bournemouth because of an injury in the warm-up.

Everton

There is no need to rush Gomes back to action as the former Barcelona man has fallen down the pecking order in the Toffees midfield as Dyche has plenty of options in the middle of the park, due to the good form of Amadou Onana, Gueye and James Garner.

Against Liverpool, the Toffees are going to have to be near their best to come away with a result as Klopp’s side have only lost one match all season so it will be a huge boost to the Toffees’ chances to have an almost complete squad at their disposal.
