Everton senior figures unaware as top-secret meeting with Premier League held
Senior figures at Everton were unaware of a top-secret meeting between the club and the Premier League regarding their breach of financial fair play regulations, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported online (18 October) that the disciplinary hearings had begun in secret on Tuesday (17 October), with the Premier League expected to publish the results next month.
The Mail claims that when they contacted senior figures at the club, they were unaware of such meetings.

The fact that even senior Everton figures were unaware of the meeting with the Premier League shows just how significant this is. The charges have put something of a cloud of shame over the club, so perhaps the most senior figures wanted to keep those invited to an absolute minimum.
Everton and the Premier League are set to complete their behind-the-scenes hearing next week before the verdict is published. They have been charged with breaching Financial Fair Play regulations after posting significant financial losses of over £372million.
Leeds, Burnley and Leicester City will also be keen to find out the verdict to see if their £300million lawsuit for the Toffees has any legs, but if found guilty they will face separate sanctions.
A points deduction, a fine, or a transfer embargo would have significant ramifications for Everton, whose financial struggles only seem to be growing.
However, Everton fans will be happy to see that the verdict will be shared soon and that meetings are happening. While no one wants the club to be found guilty, but finally knowing the verdict will be a big weight off fans’ shoulders.
