Everton v Liverpool predicted XI: Sean Dyche to axe Ashley Young

Everton take on Liverpool in the season’s first Merseyside derby with Anfield playing host to the mouth-watering fixture on 21 October.

The hosts go into this one as favourites but Sean Dyche’s side have pulled off some impressive upsets since his time at the club.

They also picked up a 3-0 victory against Bournemouth and will be riding high on that display, hoping to carry on from where they left off.

Idrissa Gueye was supposed to start the Bournemouth game but he pulled out of the eleven in the warm-ups due to an injury.

This saw Amadou Onana coming in for him but should he be fit, and there are indicators that he is, the 34-year-old may be brought back in for the £33million midfielder.

Gueye’s display on international duty suggests that his injury was a short-term one and he seems to be ready to return to the starting eleven.

The other change Dyche could make is to bring on Nathan Patterson for Ashley Young who’s been struggling recently at right-back.

The Scotland international will offer more on the counter attack and could be a physical presence to ruffle whoever ends up playing on the left for Liverpool.

Apart from that, the rest of the team picks itself and Tarkowski and Branthwaite will surely be prepared for the Reds onslaught on Saturday.

In other Everton news, a BBC pundit believes that a first-team player may have upset the rest of the dressing room after what he did and said recently.
