Sky Sports wowed by what ‘crucial’ Everton ace Jordan Pickford did for England as 7/10 verdict shared
Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford produced a 7/10 display for England in their win against Italy, according to Sky Sports.
The Toffees ace played the entire 90 minutes as the Three Lions won the Euro 2024 qualifier 3-1 on Tuesday (17 October).
Wembley played host to the fixture, with Harry Kane netting a brace to help send England to the tournament finals, with Marcus Rashford also scoring.

Dropping a 7/10 verdict on Pickford, Sky Sports wrote: “Made a crucial save just before half-time to keep it level at 1-1 as he got down low to smartly stop Destiny Udogie’s shot with a strong left hand. “Impressed with his feet too as he played some nice long accurate passes to set up attacks.”

Pickford rarely disappoints for either club or country, with the goalkeeper truly reliable between the sticks. Both the Toffees and the Three Lions are fortunate to be able to call upon such a player, one that is able to keep his teams in games at crucial periods.
That was certainly the case against Italy, with Pickford producing a very smart reflex save to deny Tottenham ace Udogie in the first half at Wembley.
The goalkeeper was in top form with his hands, which should of course be his priority, but he proved that he can cut it in the modern game too, with Pickford constantly picking out his England teammates with short and long passes.
Everton manager Sean Dyche will undoubtedly want his goalkeeper to focus on shot stopping, but the player’s ability to pick out a pass will also come in useful throughout the season.
The likes of Aaron Ramsdale and Sam Johnstone will be trying to remove Pickford from the England starting XI, but at this moment in time he very much remains the number one.
In other Everton news, the Toffees must move quickly to secure a player as Sky Sports drops £15million transfer news.
