Everton eyeing deal for Galatasaray ace Kerem Akturkoglu, five other Premier League clubs keeping tabs

Everton are one of six clubs showing an interest in Galatasaray ace Kerem Akturkoglu, according to TEAMtalk.

The online outlet reported on Thursday (19 October) that the 24-year-old winger is drawing plenty of Premier League interest, with Aston Villa, West Ham, Brighton and Nottingham Forest among them, while Tottenham are also named as previously having been monitoring him.

Akturkoglu has a deal with the Turkish Super Lig giants that runs until 2026, so any deal for his services would likely command a decent fee due to the host of suitors.

He is playing in the Champions League with Gala this season and was on target for the upset 3-2 win at Manchester United on October 3.

Hard to see it

It is always exciting to see Everton linked with young talent, especially players drawing a lot of interest throughout Europe and with pedigree in the Champions League on their CV.

But, sadly, right now it is just difficult to imagine that the Toffees will be able to complete for his signature. All of the clubs mentioned are in a better position financially than Everton, so a bidding war is out of the question.

The proposed takeover of the club by 777 Partners might change the landscape a little bit, though no one is really sure how much difference that will make or what sort of funds might get freed up.

Even if it is ratified in time for January, if other clubs do show their intent in the winter transfer window then it is seems unlikely Everton will be in a position to fight for a deal.

Still, you never know and this one is one to keep an eye on as the January window creeps ever closer into view.

In other Everton news, a timeline has been shared for the Toffees’ FFP case hearing with a verdict perhaps reached by next week.
