Pundit shares Everton relegation verdict live on talkSPORT as ‘greatest of respect’ claim made
Everton are “not out” of the Premier League relegation “equation” yet, according to talkSPORT pundit Scott Minto.
The Merseyside outfit currently sit in 16th place in the league table on seven points, three above the relegation zone.
Sean Dyche’s men have won just two of their eight matches so far, drawing one and losing the other five, with fierce rivals Liverpool up next.

“I still think they’re not out of it,” Minto said live on talkSPORT. “And I say this with the greatest of respect, this is a season where you would expect Luton and Sheffield United to go down, so really you’re just trying to avoid one place. And yet I still don’t see Everton being out of the equation as yet, I don’t.”

Worrying times
Everton were involved in worrying Premier League relegation battles in the last two seasons, only just managing to avoid an unthinkable relegation on both occasions.
It was particularly nervy last season, with Abdoulaye Doucoure netting against Bournemouth on the final day of the campaign to ensure the club’s top-flight status once again.
Some Toffees supporters were optimistic that things would be different this time around, with others fully believing that it would be the exact same.
And it is the latter group who have made the right prediction, with Dyche’s men really struggling for any form of consistency.
They have picked up superb wins against Brentford and Bournemouth, but at the same time have suffered hugely disappointing losses against the likes of Luton Town and Wolves, with those defeats and others coming at Goodison Park.
The Merseyside stadium has been far from a fortress this season, something that must change soon if the Toffees are to climb away from the dreaded relegation zone.
