Ally McCoist ridiculed by Jamie O’Hara live on talkSPORT for Liverpool v Everton commentary blunder
Jamie O’Hara poked fun at Ally McCoist live on talkSPORT after the Scotsman made a commentary blunder during the Merseyside derby between Liverpool and Everton.
McCoist, covering the game for TNT Sports on Saturday (21 October), mixed up Ashley Young’s name with that of former Arsenal and Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole.
The incident may have happened a couple of days ago, but O’Hara was quick to point out the error during The Sports Breakfast show on Monday (23 October).

After asking McCoist if he would be commentating on the London derby between Tottenham and Fulham later on Monday (23 October), O’Hara said: “Are you going to get the players’ names right, or is it going to be Ashley Cole playing left-back?”
McCoist saw the funny side and responded: “I don’t know – I haven’t made my mind up yet. I’ll keep you informed. I had a bit of a nuclear with that one, didn’t I?
“I had Ashley Cole getting sent off on Saturday. It was a hell of a tackle from Birmingham to end up in Liverpool!”
Move on
There is no doubt that McCoist had a howler, but these things happen and the Scotsman did well to brush it off.
McCoist made the error when discussing the red card issued to Young in the first half of the Merseyside derby, which ended in a 2-0 loss for Everton.
The former Scotland international added on Monday morning’s (23 October) talkSPORT show that he did not feel Young should have been showed two yellow cards.

The sending off was made all the more difficult to take when Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate somehow dodged a second yellow of his own in the second half.
As ever with derby defeats, the Toffees will be eager to draw a line under it and move on as quickly as possible.
The first chance to do so comes against West Ham next Sunday (29 October). Let’s hope for a better refereeing display in that game and a positive result.
In other Everton news, journalist Oliver Kay is concerned for the Toffees after an “awful” development he has noticed.
