Everton may be handed similar fine as West Ham United did in ex Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano saga
If Everton are guilty, a transfer ban or fine could be imposed upon them as it was on West Ham for the third-party ownership of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano in 2007.
According to the Independent [26 October], sanctions akin to those imposed on the Hammers the former Liverpool midfielder and ex Manchester United striker can be handed to the Toffees if a 12-point deduction is not on the cards.
Mascherano and Tevez are both former Champions League winners and they briefly played for the London club.

Doomsday?
At this stage, Everton fans know that they can expect the worst as the Premier League have not been consistent with their sanctions.
Arguments made even by people like Jamie Carragher which have shown how they’ve looked the other way for Manchester City’s breaches.
Everything involving the Newcastle ownership is also shady, to say the least, but none of those clubs are being taken to task.

There could be a question of what the doomsday scenario exactly is for Everton and it remains to be seen how it all unfolds from here.
Whether or not there is a deduction for sure is also uncertain as different people in the industry seem to have different takes on the situation.
The best thing fans can do is to play these things by ear and see what happens with each passing day.
