Footage emerges as Liverpool pay tribute to Bill Kenwright as Everton announce death
Footage has emerged of Liverpool fans ahead of the Europa League clash, paying tribute to Bill Kenwright, who was the chairman of Everton.
The Reds took on Toulouse on 26 October and before the game, an announcer encouraged the supporters at Anfield to applaud his life’s work.
Despite the rivalry on Merseyside, it was a touching gesture by the Liverpool fans.
Via Twitter, Redmen TV shared a video from Liverpool’s home end.
Classy
This was undoubtedly a classy gesture from the Liverpool fans and the club as they rose above the petty tribalism here.
The Toffees announced his death earlier this week before what have been a gloomy few days at Goodison Park.
Kenwright was at the helm for nearly two decades and had overseen eras of a number of managers and one record after another.

He’ll undoubtedly be missed at Everton and it’s touching to see rival fans commemorating his life’s work in such a fine manner.
There will be things planned at the next home game as well and it won’t be surprising if legends also return to pay their tributes.
Fans make football the beautiful game that it is and moments like this remind everyone why it’s so much more than just a sport.
