Alan Myers issues multi-million Everton update on 777 Partners funds

Alan Myers has issued further clarification after revealing that 777 Partners provided £80million to Everton ahead of gaining approval to buy the club.

The Sky Sports journalist claims that the Miami-biased sports investment firm is not acting as a shadow director of the club.

Despite this, they’re offering inputs and helping the club meet its working capital requirements.

Via Twitter, Myers wrote, “For what it’s worth, and that may not be much, my understanding is it doesn’t mean that, It is a part of the sales and purchase agreement with no rights before PL & FCA approval.”

Get it done

Farhad Moshiri has been an extremely unpopular owner and the fans certainly cannot wait to see the back of him.

777 Partners emerged as the eventual winners to take over control of the club from him and they do not come with a sparkling clean reputation either.

There’s been plenty said and written about them and they’ve often made the headlines for the wrong reasons rather than the right ones.

However, it would be premature to say that they will fail at Everton just because of the problems they’ve faced at other clubs.

Each side is unique in its own way and 777 can succeed at Goodison Park if they’ve learned from their previous mistakes.

Whether or not that happens is a matter of time but the longer this takeover process takes, the Toffees fans’ frustrations are going to continue rising.
