New American investors ready Everton takeover move as ‘serious’ 777 doubts emerge
American investors are waiting for 777’s takeover bid to fail at Everton before jumping in to make a move of their own, according to The Mirror.
The newspaper reported via their print edition on Friday (27 October, page 67) that while the Premier League are doing due diligence on 777 Partners after they agreed a takeover deal with Farhad Moshiri, there are “interested parties” who believe the deal will fail.
It is understood that there are US businessmen now waiting in the wings to buy Everton after initially feeling that Moshiri’s £500million asking price was too high.

If Everton enter administration due to a failed 777 takeover, it’s very likely they’ll be sold for a lot less than what Moshiri wants.
The Mirror adds that 777 claims they have lodged all documents needed to buy Everton but it is reported that they are yet to provide “up-to-date audited accounts, throwing the process into serious doubt”.
Vultures
There have been a lot of negative updates about 777’s takeover bid at Everton, with many outside of the walls of Goodison Park and the investment firm’s boardroom expecting it to fail.
Financial experts within the game and journalists unafraid of straining relationships with the Blues don’t hold too much hope with questions continually being raised about whether 777 have submitted all the documents needed to the Premier League.

And then, even if they do buy the Toffees, will they become another mess of a club like Vasco da Gama, Standard Liege or Hertha Berlin?
Everton fans need to hope that this deal does collapse because if it does, they may enter administration, but they may at least be bought by more responsible businessmen who haven’t got a history of issues at other football clubs.
A future under 777 doesn’t look bright.
Relegation seems to be quite possible with the threat of a 12-point deduction lingering over Goodison.
We’d rather get relegated and have solid owners on board than find ourselves in a continual relegation battle before eventually slumping down into the Championship – as well as other issues – under 777.
