Chris Sutton issues Everton relegation prediction amid fresh twist

Chris Sutton has made a prediction about Everton getting relegated from the Premier League amid their recent profit and sustainability chaos.

The pundit believes that the Toffees will manage to avoid relegation based on what he’s seen of them in the top flight this season.

They have had a few tough results but are currently clear of the bottom three and will want to keep it that way.

Sutton told the Daily Mail, “It is a difficult time for Everton and I think that was always going to be the case.

“I think Sean Dyche realised the job which he was going into. But in terms of evidence this season, I think I’ve been really consistent in saying that I think that they will stay in the Premier League.

“I’m not going to say it’s going to be easy. There’s going to be bumps in the road for them.”

Tough job

The sooner they get clarity over the points deduction the better it will be to plan for games.

Right now, Dyche will be more conservative with certain games away from home as a draw will not be the worst possible result.

That means, he wouldn’t ask his side to force the initiative for the three points and leave the back door open on the counter attack.

Losing 12 points is devastating but that doesn’t mean relegation is a foregone conclusion – it just means that a change of approach is needed.

He’s managed to take a side like Burnley to Europe and their resources were even more limited than what the Tofees’ are right now.

That would undoubtedly make them favourites for relegation but it’s not a foregone conclusion and there’ll be fresh investment needed in January.
