Sean Dyche sack talk mooted by Athletic journalist ahead of Everton trip to West Ham United
Sean Dyche being sacked by Everton is not out of the question if results do not pick up, according to The Athletic reporter Omar Garrick.
The Toffees have lost six of their opening nine Premier League matches and find themselves just three points above the relegation zone.
Adding to their problems, Everton also face the threat of a big points deduction if found guilty of breaching the league’s Financial Fair Play rules.

And Dyche’s name was suggested in a discussion on The Athletic Football Podcast [27 October, 34m 1s] regarding managers under pressure.
“I think Everton is one that does concern me a little because Sean Dyche succeeding Frank Lampard wasn’t really inspirational in my opinion,” Garrick said.
“I know Dyche did wonders at Burnley, but I think what Everton fans want is attacking football.
“They see themselves as a very big club and for a club of that stature, they should be nowhere near the relegation battle.
“I think he will stay, but I think there is something there. But I also look at the other side of it – if you sack someone, who else are you going to bring in?”
Points needed
While there has been a misconception with regards to the football Everton have played under Dyche, there is no denying that results are ultimately what keep managers in a job.

In Dyche’s case, Everton have struggled for momentum once again this season and are continually looking over their shoulder at the relegation zone, even without any sort of points deduction coming into force.
A trip to West Ham on Sunday (29 October) seems like a good opportunity to get some more points on the board if the Hammers’ shaky form is anything to go by.
With games against Brighton and Hove Albion, Crystal Palace and Manchester United to follow prior to the final international break of the year, Everton need to put some distance between themselves and the dropzone over the next few weeks.
If they drop below the dotted line, then it is not inconceivable that Dyche will pay the price.
In other Everton news, “extra complications” have been raised with regards to the Toffees’ ongoing FFP case.
