Abdoulaye Doucoure 4/10 stinker, Jarrad Branthwaite MOTM 8/10 – Everton player ratings v West Ham United
Everton put in a battling performance as they recorded an excellent away win against West Ham on Sunday (29 October).
A Dominic Calvert-Lewin goal just minutes into the second half was enough to earn the Toffees a 1-0 victory and all three points at the London Stadium.
Sean Dyche will have been delighted with the discipline the Blues showed throughout the majority of the game as they limited the Hammers to very few chances.

Here, Goodison News rates the Everton players out of 10 for their performances against West Ham.
Jordan Pickford – 6
The keeper didn’t actually have to do as much as he might have expected at the London Stadium. He picked up a yellow card when he needlessly involved himself in a skirmish with Mohammed Kudus midway through the half. He barely had to make a save before denying Said Benrahma with a superb save to his right in injury time.
Nathan Patterson – 4
Patterson didn’t have the best game on his return to the side in place of the suspended Ashley Young. The right-back jumped in a couple of times and was beaten in the first half, but he was fortunate to get away with it. He settled down more in the second half, though.
Jarrad Branthwaite – 8
Absolutely solid. Branthwaite has been so impressive since coming into the side and he showed once again exactly why he’s so highly thought of against the Irons. He stood up to the threats provided by Michail Antonio and it was notable that the Jamaican forward was subbed off with half an hour left to play. The centre-back could be some player.
James Tarkowski – 7
Tarkowski led the side well in East London. He was strong at the back and made a couple of fierce challenges alongside Branthwaite. The defender organised his side well and can be pleased with his afternoon.
Vitalii Mykolenko – 7
The left-back did a really good job on Jarrod Bowen as he barely gave the Hammers’ most attacking threat a sniff. The Ukrainian wasn’t scared of standing up to the winger and his performance should provide him with plenty of confidence moving forward.

James Garner – 6
Although he was a little sloppy in possession at times, Garner was everywhere as he hunted the ball down and broke up the play on a few occasions. He got better as the game went on and was largely solid defensively.
Amadou Onana – 6
The Belgian was commanding in midfield and got the better of Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse, while limiting Lucas Paqueta’s influence on the game. He played a deeper role throughout the afternoon and won the majority of his duels.
Jack Harrison – 5
The winger did register an assist, but it was quite a simple pass that set Calvert-Lewin up to score his goal. The loanee should’ve done much better with a chance in the first half, where he hit a tame effort straight at Alphonse Areola after winning the ball well in the Hammers’ half. He worked hard, but lacked a cutting edge.
Dwight McNeil – 5
McNeil didn’t have too much of an attacking influence, but he worked hard in support of Mykolenko to help limit the threat provided by Bowen. He would have liked to have been more accurate with his balls into the box, but the Toffees rarely got many bodies forward to aim for.
Abdoulaye Doucoure – 4
Playing in an attacking midfield role, Doucoure was largely anonymous throughout the game. He had one major chance to secure the points in the second half for his side when he latched onto a Calvert-Lewin flick-on and, although it was a decent effort, he could’ve taken his time and slotted the ball home.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (Off for Chermiti ’89) – 7
Led the line well without having too much support. Calvert-Lewin occupied the Irons defenders and won several duels in the air, including the one that set up Doucoure. The forward took his goal well as he turned quickly and picked out the bottom corner.
